BAHAGIA
It's been a year since the last time I blogged. A lot of things had happened in between. One of them made me extremely BAHAGIA. This first single of me, Audrey, and Cantika (GAC) had been such a big hit. So far it is one of our biggest hit. The BAHAGIA music video itself reached a million views on our Vevo Channel (GACVEVO) a week ago. We're so grateful that the song could relate to people from different generations, from our friend's 3-years-old kid, to a 70 years old lady from our church.
I'll tell a little story behind Bahagia. This song is actually the fourth song that we wrote back when we're writing songs for our sophomore album in Sweden. We were planning to make a feel-good song, since we felt really good having new experiences to write and record new music materials with awesome songwriters, producers, and composers from Sweden and the UK.
Workshop with Iggy Strange-dahl and Olof Lindskog was all about having fun. The beat and chord progression making was really fun. All we could remember was jamming to the tune with smiles on our faces. Felt really happy about how the songwriting went, we decided to make song about it. The "bahagia-ia, bahagia-ia-ia" hook was the first part the we decided to put in the song. We knew right away that this song would be one of our favourite.

The three of us then continued the lyric-making ourselves. The feel good tune then turns into a deep conversation between us three. It's ironic that lots of people said that being Bahagia ( happy ) is a simple thing, but still lots of people aren't. So we decided to put our thoughts and wrote what made us happy into a song.

How "Bahagia" looks-like back in March 2014
The day after finishing our thoughts and feelings into a song, we recorded our new jam with the humble Olof Lindskog. Didn't take too long to finish our new baby, "BAHAGIA". All I could remember is how fun the recording session was. It was such a memorable moment for us three.

HALIMUN
In this hectic metropolitan city of Jakarta, it is not an easy thing to find areas that are still natural. Buildings and cars are everywhere. We couldn't even hear the birds anymore. When my cousins mentioned stuffs about Gunung Halimun Salak National Park, I knew that I will definitely do this trip with them. So I did. Halimun
I would consider this place as one of the most natural area that I could find near here. And what I mean by natural is, the 'you-could-meet-snakes' kind of natural. Lol. But thankfully I didn't. This trip could be considered dangerous to some people. But as long as you do this trip with guidances by the ranger (from the park), you should be fine.
Greens, greens, greens everywhere. Huge trees and fresh air all around. All you can hear is the sounds of the birds, monkeys, and the river. Not to make you guys scared or anything, but there are around 40-60 leopards here somewhere in the woods of Halimun (2003). Unlike leech, leopard doesn't show when people around.
Cikaniki Research Station
It took 7 hours from Jakarta to get to the place where we stayed; Cikaniki Research Station. There are 5 rooms consist of 4 single beds each. There's bathroom and also kitchen set in the house. No foods in the fridge though, so bring your own.

This place was build by Japan Government as a token of friendship and cooperation between Japan and Republic of Indonesia. It was used by them to held a research about Elang Jawa (Javan Hawk Eagle) back in the day.
Cikaniki River
We're on the mountain guys, so the water is cold as ice. Once you're in you wouldn't want to get out. It was freezing even when the sun shines.
Curug Macan Waterfall
This is the closest waterfall from our stay. It was raining the day before, so we didn't actually explore the waterfall. We just happened to take some pictures of it before we went back home.
Canopy Trail
Roughly 200 meters from where we stay, there's a canopy bridge which elevated 20 meters from the ground. You could see various types of birds and amazing views of the trees and river. Lucky for us it wasn't windy or raining on that day. Rangers don't allow people to go up there when it's not the best weather.
Tea Plantation
Mount Halimun Salak has a huge tea plantation area. It is actually the source of one of the biggest tea brand in Indonesia ( one of my favorite tea ever ). The view of the tea plantation was breathtaking. If I had more time, I would just walk around for hours to take photos.

The Team
Changeable Hawk-Eagle and also two Crested Serpent Eagles are flying from one tree to another. Always love to see how eagles fly; effortless yet so strong. Some creatures are very shy, but some isn't, like the Blue Whistling Thrush.
And one of the biggest surprise for the crew was meeting this very rare creature, pangolin (trenggiling). Too bad some of us were still asleep, including me.
So far, this place is one of the most natural place near Jakarta that I've explored. If you're a nature fan, this place is one of the best you could get here; not the safest one though. My trip team is a nature freak, so exploring this place with these guys is pure fun.
Tips for doing this trip:
1) Make sure you're riding a high ground clearance car;
2) Bring your own foods and beverages;
3) Bring your own shower tools.

LMT
A year ago, I told my friend, Tarra that our friend, Dhany should have something that could actually express his genius visual brain. Tarra told me that Dhany is thinking the same thing. Working together as a team made them even stronger. So here I am a year later, witnessing the launch of their brand yesterday. Here's my outfit of the day, wearing the first pilot collection of LMT, a premium brand of a refined street style.

MIRRORS
So I'd like to start this post by saying thank you from the deepest of my heart to all supports that had been given to me and GAC for these past years. Our Justin Timberlake's "Mirrors" cover had received so many love by you guys. By this month, our cover reaches 1 million views on my YouTube channel gamal1990.
Our Mr. "Mirrors" cover had been through a really fun journey. He didn't even tell us that he's going to the 56th Annual Grammy Awards 2014. How lucky you are, Mr. "Mirrors" cover. Sooo yes, this video had been featured for about 3 seconds in this year's Grammys. Check the video below.

HYDE
A great ambience always helps me work. This place surely has it. Dynamic murals on different spots of the cafe, surely make the customers couldn't resist not to take photos in this cozy little space that is located in Jl. Taman Kemang 1A, No. 8, Jakarta.
I might not be a food blogger, but that doesn't mean I couldn't review some. This place has many choices of western foods and beverages. Since I don't drink, I didn't try anything from the bar. But this fresh Kiwi Juice surely makes me curious of how other juices taste like.
(Kiwi Juice)
The foods though! This Crispy Skin Barramundi is something worth to try. The name of this dish is telling the truth haha.. I couldn't stop smiling trying out this one out.

I wouldn't review too much about Hyde's 'Fish and Chips', because since Dory is my favorite fish, I might be very subjective about it. As a fan of fish and chips, I could happily say that I'm not disappointed.
(Fish and Chips)
The last time I went here, the serving took quiet some time. If you're in school or working, I didn't recommend you guys to eat here between lunch breaks, otherwise you won't have much time to eat. But if you are looking for a place to hang with friends or a place with good dishes and ambience, this place is worth trying. Totally gonna be back to try more stuffs.
More about Hyde check their page out.
